The Lifestyle's Behaviors Lab

We are interested in developing and testing ideas about how health behaviors can be promoted among clinical populations in a meaningful and sustainable way to improve health outcomes and quality of life.

We are behavioral scientists, exercise physiologists,  epidemiologists, and public health scientists with training in human movement science, exercise oncology and cancer prevention and control. Our work focuses on the design and delivery of behavioral lifestyle programs (physical activity, sedentary behavior, nutrition, stress management) for several cancer populations at increased risk of developing secondary commorbidities and compromised quality of life. Our research program applies both a social cognitive and a socio-ecological model perspective to investigate the determinants and consequences of adopting and maintaining healthy lifestyle behaviors among cancer patients and survivors. Our main lines of inquiry address 1) the role of physical activity/sedentary behavior and nutrition in disease prevention and health promotion; 2) physical activity, exercise and cardio-oncology; 3) the use of technology for the delivery of clinical and behavioral lifestyle interventions.
